Day 35 – Rest

Even though you are coming out of a recovery week it is still important to take your rest. Your body needs the days off that it gets and today is no exception. Enjoy the day, relax your muscles, try to recover from your recovery.

You will have an insanely challenging day tomorrow. Prepare your mind for it as you rest today. And let your body really get it’s rest. You’re going to need it.

Until tomorrow, when it really hits the fan, rest hard. :)

Day 28 – Rest

You never know just how much you need rest until you take it. Today is like that for me. And if you are doing Insanity, it should be for you, too.

Your body has taken a pounding the last six days and it needs a chance to recover from that. At least mine does. So I’m taking my rest with a smile on my face and getting ready for my week of recovery.

Day 21 – Rest

If you’re anything like me you’e either at that point where you want to work out every single day or you will be there shortly. No matte how good you feel about yourself and your progress, please don’t overdo it. There is a reason that rest is a scheduled day on Insanity. It’s because your body needs it.

You spend six days a week pounding yourself into oblivion, getting in the best shape of your life and trying not to reach into the TV and strangle Shaun T. You should spend your one day off not doing those things.

So rest today. Your body needs. Your mind needs it. Besides, tomorrow will be here before you know it and you’ll be back to getting an up close and personal look at your floor before you know it.

Day 14 – Rest

The end of week two, like the end of every week in Insanity, brings rest to your schedule. Take it and enjoy it.

Let your body recover from the pounding that it takes day in and day out. Let your muscles recoup, let your mind clear itself. Prepare yourself mentally for tomorrow, when it starts all over again, but take full advantage of today, when you should be doing nothing physical that exerts yourself like Insanity, or exercise in general, would.

Day 7 – Rest

Today is a rest in Insanity. If this is your first time on the program, and especially if this is your first week, relish this day. Make sure you don’t work your muscles out too hard today in whatever you choose to do today. It is extremely important that your muscles have a chance to rest.

So make sure you take it easy today. Relax and enjoy your rest day. Besides, Monday rolls around awfully fast.
